At Mineral Community Hospital (MCH), we understand that our mission is to improve the health and quality of life of our community. MCH is a Level IV Trauma Receiving Facility. We provide inpatient, outpatient, 24-hour emergency room care, long-term care and physical therapy, as well as many other health care services you may not expect to find in a rural hospital and health center.

As Mineral County's primary health care provider, we offer acute care services, both skilled and long-term care, and outpatient and physician services.

Overview

Mineral Community Hospital is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist to work both inpatient and outpatient services. We are a 25-bed critical access hospital with outpatient services attached in a recently updated facility in beautiful Western Montana. Schedules are flexible to help create a good work-life balance. Staff are friendly and welcoming with great access to your providers, as well as hospital and administrative staff. You will be working alongside one PT and one PTA with a patient population ranging from high school athletes, post-op care, chronic pain, and geriatrics.

Requirements

Current Montana Physical Therapy Licensure
Prefer one year of related experience, however new graduates are encouraged to apply
Duties

The focus of this position is to enhance patient care and safety while working and collaborating positively as a member of the MCH team.
The purpose of the physical therapist is to assess patient ability or disability, prevent deformity or disability, relieve pain, develop, and improve body skills, restore function, reach maximum performance within the patient’s capabilities.

Equipment/Skills

Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and at times hostile people of all ages within the facility or on the phone.
Must be able to work with the patient’s physician in application of prescribed treatment, including prompt reporting of significant information that may influence the care of the patient.
Must be able to collaborate with those who can contribute to the patient’s progress including patient, family nursing, and instruct or supervise supportive personnel.
Must share knowledge and skills with other services and disciplines concerned with the welfare of the patient. Encourage interchange of information within the health care facility. Participate in policy making and administrative decisions relating to PT and patient care.
Will continue to seek new knowledge professionally.
Membership in APTA is optional, but supports growth of the profession, and improvement in patient care, code of ethics, and promotes raising the level of health in our community
Must have knowledge of hydrocollator, paraffin, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, whirlpool, exercise, and any other equipment used in the PT department.
Able to organize and prioritize workload.
Able to work under pressure and perform multitasking duties under pressure with accuracy.
Must have manual dexterity.
Able to complete tasks within a given time frame.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Able to assume ultimate responsibility regarding departmental operations.
