The Mineral Community Hospital Hikers have many guided hikes in our beautiful backyard, as well as in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley and awesome Sanders County through September 13, 2018. Many offer shuttle service from volunteer drivers of the Mineral County Pioneer Council for $10 round trip ($18 for Sanders County). To reserve a seat or just confirm that you will be going, contact Monte Turner at firstname.lastname@example.org or 822-5122. Many hikes are dog friendly and they ride the shuttle free of charge! Bring water, a camera, snacks, more water, layers of clothing, sunscreen and don’t forget your water! And if you want to turn back early, no problem! GREAT camaraderie with like-minded folks.
August 25 Trapper Peak in the Bitterroot (Racheal Zeiler): Meet at Racheal’s house at 5:30 AM (call Monte for directions). This is an 8 mile round trip hike with 3,500′ to 4,000′ in elevation gain. There are 3 lakes on the Baker Lake Trail if you want to explore while others continue on and climb the steep-stuff. This is not a dog friendly hike and is rated moderate to strenuous. No shuttle for this hike but call Monte if you want to carpool.
