Roger G. Pafford, MD - Chief of Staff
Dr. Roger Glenn Pafford attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he completed his MD degree in 2005. He completed his residency training in Family Practice medicine at the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 2008. After practicing medicine in Iowa and Wyoming he moved to Superior, Montana. Dr. Pafford also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance.
G. Bruce McClelland, MD
Dr. McClelland provides quality care in the field of ear, nose and throat (ENT). He graduated from the Marquette University Medical College of Wisconsin in 1967. Dr. McClelland is Board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and a member of the Montana State Medical Association. His services include: tonsillectomy, surgical removal of skin cancer, nasal/sinus surgery, ear tube insertion and adenoidectomy.
Kristen Badë, DPT
Kristen Badë received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington University in 2014 after receiving a Bachelor's degree in Science from Montana State University in 2010. She has been traveling and working at a variety of clinics in Montana. Since graduation, Kristen has been working towards earning a manual therapy certification and becoming an orthopedic certified specialist. Her practice at MCH continues to grow.
Laurel Chambers, PA-C
Laurel Chambers was born and raised in Superior, Montana, and has been a Physician Assistant at Mineral Community Hospital for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of Montana with a Heath and Human Performance degree with an emphasis in athletic training and went on to the Rocky Mountain College PA school. Laurel loves working in the Emergency Room.
Karyn Thornton, PA-C
Karyn Thornton fell in love with Montana during a teenage camping trip and knew she would eventually live here. She graduated from the University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Program. Karyn's passion is to provide quality healthcare to rural/frontier areas. She is also one of 22 certified physician's assistants nationally to have earned a certificate of added qualification in emergency medicine.
Jane A. Whetzel, APRN, PA-C
Jane Whetzel graduated from the University of North Dakota with degrees as a Physician's Assistant and also a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). With more than 30 years' experience, Jane is a welcome addition to the Mineral Community Hospital family.
Jeff Chelmo, PA-C
Jeff Chelmo brings vast experience to Mineral Community Hospital. Jeff graduated from the University of Nebraska with a D.D.S. in May of 1981. After practicing dentistry for nearly ten years, he discontinued his practice due to a traumatic amputation of his right thumb in an accident. He returned to Creighton University where he received his B.S. in Nursing and then attended the University of South Dakota and received his degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 1999. Since graduation, Jeff has practiced emergency medicine in Chester, Montana and Hoonah, Alaska. Jeff is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys woodworking and cabinet making.
Laura A. Salyers, MD
Laura A. Salyers, MD is a practicing Psychiatrist (Therapist) in Missoula, MT, with Providence Health & Services- Psychiatry. Dr Salyers graduated from University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1998 and has been in practice for 22 years. She completed a residency at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Dr Salyers also specializes in Neurology. Dr Salyers also practices at St Claire Counseling in Morehead, KY.
Michael Zehnpfennig, MD
Dr Zehnpfennig is a general surgeon currently practices at Community Medical Center in Missoula. He provides colonoscopy services to Mineral Community Hospital. Dr Zehnpfennig attended Wayne State University School of Medicine where he completed his MD degree in 2006. Dr Z completed his general surgical residency training at Detroit Medical Center in 2011.
Riley Shaw, Physical Therapy Assistant
Riley was born in Missoula and went to high school in Fort Benton. He graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Health and Human Performance and went on to earn his Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Flathead Valley Community College this July. Riley has a passion for fitness and helping individuals of all ages reach their optimal function post-injury.
