Camo-Critters 4-H Club

November 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 7:00pm on day Second of the month, repeating indefinitely

The Extension Office provides oversight for the 4-H program and initial point-of-contact for youth and adult volunteers.  Each organized club sets their own meeting times, locations, and agendas which are subject to change.

Montana 4-H is the youth development program of Montana State University Extension, where youth try new experiences, master skills, and expand their own potential with guidance from trained and caring adults.  In Montana, 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth development program, reaching nearly 30,000 youth through projects and educational activities.  4-H reaches youth aged 6-19  through school enrichment programs, after-school programs, special interest projects, camps, and community service opportunities; in addition to local, organized clubs.

In Mineral County, the 4-H program has approximately 60 youth and 24 adult volunteers enrolled.  There are currently two organizational clubs; the Rustlers 4-H Club in Superior and the Camo Critters 4-H Club in St. Regis.  A third club in Alberton, the Petty Mountain Trackers 4-H Club, is currently in abeyance due to lack of members.  Youth that are not enrolled in an organized 4-H Club may still enroll in 4-H and are treated as “at-large” members.

4-H offers many areas of study such as sewing, cooking, robotic, photography, large and small animals, horses, and anything in between. One of strongest strengths of 4-H is the leadership training and the community service. the Camo Critters 4-H Club participates in at least 3 community projects such as making Christmas cookies bags for the St. Regis Sr. Citizens, landscaping at Trestle Creek Golf Course, planting flowers and trees at the St. Regis Medical Center when it first open and some of those trees and shrubs are still alive today.

Our newly elected officers just completed a day of officer training, which cover areas of officers duties, how to run an efficient meeting, team building, etc.

4-H is an educational, and community service organization for children ages 6 through 18. 4-H is a global organization that teaches young people leadership skills, through a project based program. Community service is a large part of 4-H. 4-H is volunteer based as our members learn from adult experiences.
